CHARLOTTE JAIL GUARD ARRESTED, CHARGED WITH GIVING VAPES AND CELL PHONES TO INMATE

A detention officer with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office identified as Tiffieny Blanks, 35, was arrested on November 28, 2023 accused of giving phones and vapes to inmates at the jail in Charlotte, NC. Follow our new Instagram page.

The sheriff’s department opened an investigation after receiving reports alleging that Officer Blanks was smuggling illegal items inside of the Mecklenburg County jail. A review of surveillance footage prompted a search, resulting in the discovery of a mobile phone and vape devices.

Tiffieny was accused of smuggling the phone and vapes to an inmate inside the jail.

State law prohibits the furnishing of mobile phones or tobacco products to include vapor products to persons in custody in a local confinement facility.

Even a jail nurse was arrested, accused of giving a cell phone to an inmate

Tiffieny was arrested charged with providing phones and tobacco to inmate. Tiffieny was then fired from her job at the jail. She had been employed as a jail guard since May 4, 2022.

Yet another jail detention officer at the same jail was arrested, accused of smuggling
