CHARLOTTE BUS DRIVER MURDERED IN DRIVE-BY SHOOTING ON DUTY

41-year-old Ethan Rivera is the City of Charlotte bus driver that was shot and killed while driving a bus in uptown Charlotte, NC on West Trade Street. Ethan died on February 12, 2022.

The actual shooting was on February 11, 2022 around 10 p.m. Ethan was driving a city bus on West Trade with 4 passengers abroad. A SUV then pulled up beside the bus and shot Ethan in the head.

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) bus then traveled off of the roadway. Once officers got to the CATS bus they located the driver Ethan with an apparent gunshot wound.

Ethan was taken from the scene to Atrium Main hospital with life threatening injuries. However, on February 12th Ethan died at the hospital. No arrests have been made.
