Three people were found dead on August 21, 2019 inside a town home residence near Atlanta. Dr. Marsha Edwards, 58, is accused of shooting and killing her 20-year-old daughter Erin Edwards, and her 24-year-old son Chris Edwards.
Officials say Dr. Marsha then killed herself via a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities discovered the dead bodies during a welfare check at Marsha Edwards’ upscale townhouse.
Dr. Marsha is the ex-wife of a well-known Atlanta surgeon, Dr. Christopher Edwards — the victims’ father.
Dr. Edwards is an orthopedic surgeon and chairman of the Atlanta Housing Authority board, he also sits on the board of trustees for the Morehouse School of Medicine.
Chris Edwards worked as a digital content manager for the City of Atlanta and worked in the Mayor’s Office of Entertainment.
Erin Edwards was a student at Boston University, and spent the summer in New York at an internship.
