Jayveyon Burley, 22, was arrested on December 4, 2022 after his 1-year-old daughter Leilani Burley was discovered dead in the LA River in Long Beach, CA.
On December 4, 2022 Jayveyon had picked up his two kids from his babys mother’s residence. The kids were Leilani and her older brother age 3.
Jayveyon was angry when he picked the kids up and drove erratically away from the mother’s house.
Jayveyon then is accused of stopping at a bridge on the LA River and throwing Leilani off of the bridge into the water.
Police say Jayveyon then drove off with Leilani’s older brother in the back seat.
Jayveyon then arrived at his mother’s home. The grandmother of the children noticed Leilani was missing and called police after not getting any answers out of her son Jayveyon.
Police arrived and were led to search the LA River. At 10 p.m. a water dive team found baby Leilani dead in the LA River.
Jayveyon was arrested and charged with murder.
