A Wilkinson Blvd American Deli received a bad health score due to food left out overnight and no hand washing
An American Deli restaurant received an 86 health score. The American Deli in question is located at 3210 Wilkinson Blvd. Charlotte, NC. The restaurant underwent a health inspection on August 27, 2019 and the results are shocking.
Restaurants are suppose to be free of insects, rodents, and other pests, but there were flying insects throughout the facility. The inspector noted that general cleaning needed to be done throughout the American Deli.
American Deli food employees were seen going from raw food to ready to eat food without washing their hands. Also food employees were observed reporting to work, putting on gloves, and preparing food without washing their hands.
There was no person in charge at the restaurant when the inspection began. A person in charge is suppose to be on the restaurant premises during all hours of operation. The manager and owner arrived later into the inspection.
The inspection determined that there was no one on site at American Deli with clear knowledge of the employee health policy.
The rice had been left in the cooker from the previous day. The rice was voluntarily discarded.
Several containers of wing sauces were left from the previous night on the back shelf. The ice machine in the back kitchen had black residue.
The American Deli prep surfaces were covered with sticky residue and a build up of food debris. There were also bottles of sauces that had been left out overnight with sticky residue.
