More snow is on the way to Charlotte, NC. The snow will come on January 31, 2026 and will accumulate to 6 plus inches. Charlotte had snow just last week with 0.25 ice accumulations.
The newest winter storm will bring the most snow Charlotte has seen in over 6 years. The snow will start in the mountains and the cold air and moisture will create a winter vortex in the sky, forcing snow to fall in Charlotte as it moves from the mountains. However, depending on how cold the air gets, Charlotte could see more than 6 inches of snow. Charlotte will get 15 mph wind in addition to the snow, and that formulates blizzard like conditions.
The beaches are expected to get 8 inches of snow or more. The snow will be dry and powdery, making accumulations fast and more fun to play in.
