The soldiers were at a military depot in Port Shuaiba just 10 miles away from Camp Arifjan Army base in Kuwait when drones launched by and from Iran hit the depot, killing the 6 soldiers.
The explosion injured several soldiers, while the dead soldiers were killed on impact. They were part of the Army Reserve and assigned to the 103rd Sustainment Command, working with logistics and supplies such as food and equipment.
The depot attacked had no defenses. The soldiers were essentially sitting ducks with no recourse for fighting back via missile, bombs, or surface to air combat.

Israel and the United States executed a joint attack on Iran beginning February 28, 2026. 1,000 people in Iran have been killed since the attacks including Iran’s supreme leader and other Iranian top officials.
Iran responded by firing missiles and drones at nearby American targets and bases in United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Iraq, and Bahrain. On March 4, 2026 a U.S. submarine fired a torpedo at an Iranian ship and sank it.
The ship attack killed around 50 Iranians. Donald Trump has vowed to increase military strikes on Iran due to them killing the 6 American soldiers.
