$3 MILLION CASH FOUND IN BARRELS OF RAW PORK INSIDE 18-WHEELER TRUCK

Date:

A traffic stop on December 7, 2019 led to the discovery of $3 million in cash hidden inside barrels of raw pork shoulders, in Cleveland County, NC.

A deputy pulled over a tractor-trailer being driven by a man after the big rig was seen swerving and interrupting traffic flow on Interstate 85.

Deputies and a K-9 dog unit searched the 18-wheeler and found the stash of cash in the barrels of raw pork shoulders. The cash was tightly wrapped in plastic similar to how bricks of cocaine are wrapped. Officials believe that the money was headed to the United States/Mexican border.

Deputies say the money is also believed to have come as a result of drug sales throughout the region. The money was confiscated.
