WOMAN HAD $1.5 MILLION IN HEROIN HIDDEN IN CAR

A 28-year-old woman was caught by U.S. Customs and Border Protection with $1,500,000 worth of heroin hidden within her Volkswagen Jetta in Pharr, Texas

The drug bust was at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge May 17, 2021. The woman was arriving from Mexico in a Volkswagen Jetta car. In a search, officers discovered that the car’s tires contained suspected narcotics. A canine team assisted in the inspection which resulted in the seizure of 24 packages of heroin weighing 55 pounds. 

The drugs have a street value of $1.5 million. The woman is a United States citizen, she was arrested and ultimately turned over to the custody of agents with Homeland Security Investigations as they continue with the investigation. 

The narcotics and the lady’s vehicle were seized.
