OVER $555,000 IN MARIJUANA SEIZED DURING SMUGGLING ATTEMPT

U.S. Border Patrol agents seized $570,024 worth of marijuana near the Rio Grande River in Laredo, Texas. 

The incident occurred during the late evening hours of January 7, 2020 when agents assigned to the Laredo North Station observed several individuals crossing the Rio Grande River into the U.S. 

When agents approached the area to investigate, the individuals dropped several bundles of marijuana and absconded back to Mexico. Agents searched the immediate area, located and seized eight bundles of marijuana.

The marijuana had a total weight of 712.5 pounds with an approximate street value of $570,024.
