$6.9 MILLION IN COCAINE HIDDEN WITHIN TRAILER GETS INTERCEPTED

On October 16, 2020 U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers encountered 2 tractor trailers carrying cocaine with a combined estimated street value exceeding $6.9 million.

The first seizure was at the World Trade Bridge in Laredo, Texas when an officer referred a tractor trailer hauling a shipment of aluminum scrap for a secondary inspection. Utilizing a canine and non-intrusive imaging system, officers discovered 135 packages containing a total of 337 pounds of cocaine within the shipment.

The second seizure also occurred at the World Trade Bridge on the same day when officers encountered a tractor trailer hauling a shipment of aluminum scrap. Officers again utilized a non-intrusive imaging system and conducted a canine inspection which led to the discovery of 223 packages of cocaine totaling 567 pounds.

The narcotics combined have an estimated street value of $6,973,400.
