Both were found dead on July 3, 2025. Tanether and Morris were found dead lying on the floor inside a residence; cocaine and fentanyl were on scene.

The fentanyl caused extensive congestion in Tanether’s lungs. Tanether had 58 ml of fentanyl in her system. Her cause of death was combined fentanyl and cocaine toxicity.

Morris had deadly amounts of fentanyl and methamphetamine in his blood. Morris had hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease also. The official cause of death for Morris was cocaine, meth, and fentanyl overdose.

Fentanyl has taken the lives of several people in Charlotte.
