ARRESTS MADE AFTER VICTIM MURDERED ON WEST SUGAR CREEK

2 people were arrested charged with the homicide of Moerell Larkin, 33. The suspects are Devon Platt, 29, and Donnesha Blount, 29. Moerell was murdered on August 24, 2022.

Dozens of people were hanging out in the parking lot of the Shell gas station on the intersection of West Sugar Creek Road and Reagan Drive in Charlotte, NC.

Around 12:15 a.m. a fight between multiple people broke out at the gas station. Someone then began shooting a gun multiple times. Moerell was shot.

People began running. Paramedics later arrived on scene and gave Moerell emergency treatment. Cops arrived and blocked off traffic and set up yellow crime scene tape.

Moerell was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased shortly afterwards.

On August 24th both suspects Devon and Donnesha were arrested and charged with Moerell’s murder.
