3 BLACK MEN CHARGED WITH UPTOWN CHARLOTTE MURDER OF YOUNG MAN

A murder in uptown Charlotte has yielded 3 arrests

Police have charged Gervaris Culp, 24, Takyi Wylie, 20, and Jamel Robinson, 21, with the murder of 21-year-old Tahajie Howard. The victim was shot and killed in uptown Charlotte, NC. The suspects were arrested on December 9, 2021.

Tahajie was shot and killed in a violent homicide on October 17, 2021 on South Mint Street in the heart of uptown Charlotte.

In the late evening Tahajie was shot on Remount Road. Tahajie was driven to a parking lot on South Mint Street in uptown Charlotte, where he was pronounced deceased on scene. 

Homicide Unit detectives identified Geraaris, Takyi, and Jamel as suspects in this case and warrants were issued for their arrests. On December 9, 2021, officers with the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team located and arrested all three suspects without incident. 

Following their interview with detectives, the suspects were transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Jail and each charged with 1st degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
