Cops were on the run like athletes after a suspect fired several shotgun shots at them
Tyler Drew, 27, is accused of shooting at several cops at a club in uptown Charlotte, NC on March 19, 2022 on North Brevard Street.
On March 19th shortly before 1:32 a.m., officers responded to a club on North Caldwell Street in reference to a physical assault that took place at the night club.
While investigating this incident, several fights started in an adjacent parking lot located on North Brevard Street. While officers were breaking up these fights, Tyler allegedly retrieved a rifle and fired several shots at officers.
The cops ran for cover like athletes. No officers were struck by gunfire and surprisingly no officers fired their firearms. As officers split up to take cover and address the threat, one of the officers was able to tackle Tyler and take him to jail.
Tyler is charged with six counts of assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
