PRISON INMATE CHARGED WITH MURDERING MAN ON WILKINSON BLVD.

As a result of continued investigation, on August 16, 2022 Joseph Banks, 31, was charged with the homicide of 25-year-old Demontravis Reid in Charlotte, NC. Joseph was already in prison on separate charges when police say he was identified as the murder suspect.

Demontravis was shot and killed on April 14, 2021 around midnight. The shooting was on Wilkinson Blvd. Charlotte, NC. Demontravis was shot and found suffering and bleeding on the street.

Demontravis was pronounced deceased on scene by paramedics.

Joseph went to prison around May 2021 on drug and probation violation charges. However, over a year after Demontravis’s murder, Joseph was accused of the homicide.

In August 2022 while Joseph was in his prison cell, he was served warrants for murder and possession of a firearm by a felon for the killing of Demontravis.

Demontravis was a father, his children and family miss him so much, his children are still grieving his death.
