On August 19, 2022 an officer involved shooting took place on St. Croix Lane Charlotte, NC. A female suspect shot a female cop.
The shooting was as 5:30 p.m., officers were attempting to serve an involuntary commitment order on a female at a residence. The order required that the female suspect come with officers for a psychological well being check at a behavioral health facility.
Upon arrival, a male at the residence opened the door and greeted the officers. Officers called out to the female suspect who was inside the residence. The female suspect responded with gunfire toward three police officers.
One cop was shot in the chest. The bullet proof vest saved the officer from being killed.
One officer returned gunfire and struck the female suspect. The female suspect was transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries. The three responding officers were transported to a nearby hospital for observation. A firearm was recovered from the scene.
