Rayshawn Strong, 26, is charged with the murder of Donna Howard, 61, that occurred in Charlotte, NC. Rayshawn was arrested on November 8, 2022. Donna’s son Swane Howard, 23, was killed after being shot in the head.
Swane had recent life stressors that included relationship troubles and job loss. There is no indication of foul play, but this case has not been officially ruled as a suicide. Rayshawn is not a suspect in Swane’s shooting death.
Swane’s family and friends were devastated of his death. His funeral was planned for June 25, 2022.
But sadly Swane’s mother Donna never made it to his funeral because Donna was murdered on the day of Swane’s funeral. Donna was shot and killed on Dinglewood Ave. at 2 a.m. on June 25, 2022. Donna was shot by unknown suspects. She was discovered lying in the street by emergency responders.
Donna died on the scene.
On November 8, 2022 Rayshawn was arrested by members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team and transported to police headquarters where homicide detectives interviewed him.
Rayshawn was charged with 1st degree murder.
