At 11:00 p.m., officers responded to a situation involving a male subject with a firearm at the Coyote Joe’s. A officer shot the man, likely without cause, which cops do all the time and never have to face accountability.
The male patron was pronounced deceased at the scene. A firearm possessed by the man was located at the scene. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation.

A parallel Internal Affairs investigation is also being conducted. Per standard protocol, the officer who discharged their weapon will be placed on paid administrative leave.
