The Charlotte Inn is located at 1408 West Sugar Creek Charlotte, NC. An employee at the Charlotte Inn was assaulted and punched in the face on the job by a male suspect in 2022. The suspect was seen grabbing the female employee.
The employee was able to run out of the inn to safety.
A company is in the process of purchasing the Rodeway Inn and Charlotte Inn (also known as Charlotte Speedway Inn) both motels are on West Sugar Creek Rd.
Steven Eichler, 34, and Spencer Lewis, 27, were both found dead at the Charlotte Inn.
Several rooms had mold as well at the inn.
In June 2023 the electricity was turned off at the Charlotte Inn. Some people living at the Charlotte Inn were on oxygen tanks and needed electricity. The electricity stayed off for hours. The former owner of the same inn was sentenced to prison for fraud in 2019.
The doors in some rooms were broken and could not be open or shut without using a pry bar, as seen in the below video.
In August 2023 there was no water at the Charlotte Inn for 2 days, employees at the inn said the water was cut due to the bill not being paid.
The Mecklenburg County Health Department came to the Charlotte Inn due to the water being off, the health department said the residents must evacuate if the inn does not have water, the water bill was then paid on the same day of the health department’s visit.
Also in 2023 the back of the laundry room flooded from water in the ceilings. Employees at the Charlotte Inn even said that cable tv was out for months at the inn.
Windows were broken at the Charlotte Inn and were taped up.
