West Mecklenburg High School Basketball Coach Chris Ewell, 30, was arrested on November 5, 2026 in Charlotte, NC accused of having sexual relations with a 17-year-old female student and giving her Patron and Hennessy shots. Coach Ewell and the teen girl are accused of kissing each other multiple times on West Meck High School property.
In October 2026 Coach Ewell summed up an Uber ride for the girl to come to his house late at night. The girl accepted the ride and arrived at Coach Ewell’s home.
Once there it is alleged that Coach Ewell gave the teen underage girl Hennsessy and Patron, the girl got slightly intoxicated according to court testimony.
Coach Ewell is then accused of making his move and tongue kissing the girl. The two are then accused of engaging in sexual contact of some sort.
Coach Ewell then paid for the girl to take an Uber to her friend’s house. The girl used an Ipad to communicate with her friends via text message and told the friends about her alleged encounters with the coach and the alleged prior incidents of kissing and touching on West Meck High School property.
The girl’s friends then snitched and told school officials about the text messages. The school principal told police.
Police talked to Coach Ewell about the allegations and the coach denied sexual contact with the teen girl. Coach Ewell did admit to the girl coming over to his house.
Coach Ewell was arrested charged with sexual activity with a student by a teacher, indecent Liberties with a student, and contributing to delinquency of a minor. Now the girl can sue the Charlotte school system for millions of dollars.
