Taji Brown, 30, (Seen here) pled guilty to five counts of indecent liberties with a child. In 2017, Mr. Taji taught fifth grade at Billingsville Elementary School in Charlotte, NC.
In July of 2017, a male student disclosed that Mr. Taji had touched his private areas while staying at Taji’s home as part of a summer camp that Taji ran.
Numerous other male students associated with Mr. Taji disclosed similar instances of Taji touching them inappropriately.
Judge Lisa C. Bell was disgusted with Mr. Taji’s actions and sentenced him to 20-33 months in prison on July 19, 2018. Taji must also register as a sex offender for 30 years.
Charlotte Alerts exclusively spoke with Charlotte jail guards that admitted Mr. Taji pretended to be tough during his stay in jail by playing basketball and rough housing inmates. But after inmates found out what he got arrested for, Mr. Taji was moved to protected custody.
