A doctor was murdered in a home invasion, his wife was stabbed, the couple’s 2 kids ran out the house for help
Dr. Idris Evans, 46, was savagely murdered at his home on September 24, 2026 in Pittsburgh, PA. The wife of Doctor Evans identified as Gina Evans was stabbed and is in the ICU intensive care unit. Elijah Hemingway, 32, is the accused killer.
Dr. Evans was a physician, he was the medical director of the Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team at UPMC Children’s Hospital. Dr. Evans had a wife and 2 kids.

On September 24th Elijah is accused of entering the doctor’s home via an open window. Elijah is accused of grabbing a kitchen knife and going upstairs to the married couples bedroom.
It was there that Elijah is accused of stabbing Dr. Evans and his wife. The wife screamed out for their two young children ages 8 and 12 to run outside for help.
The kids ran for help at a neighbor’s house. Dr. Evans died on scene, his wife was critically injured and sent to the intensive care unit. The suspect fled the scene. Neighbors called 911 after the kids ran screaming down the street.
Elijah was arrested charged with murder later in the night.
