An assistant manager at Family Dollar is accused of helping another employee steal merchandise, times must be hard if people are stealing from Family Dollar
Halee Welch, 20, and Matisha Wood, 40, are employees at Family Dollar, they were arrested on July 30, 2026 accused of stealing from Family Dollar in Charlotte, NC. Matisha is the assistant manager at the Family Dollar on Wendover Road.

In July 2026 asset protection agents at Family Dollar conducted a fraud investigation and discovered theft amongst Family Dollar employees.
Halee was doing fraudulent coupon transactions under Matisha’s employee ID. It is alleged that Matisha gave permission for Halee to do the fraudulent transactions under Matisha’s employee id.
Halee allowed her child’s father to come into the Family Dollar on multiple occasions. Halee was caught on camera sliding merchandise across the counter to her child’s father and allowing him to walk past the last point of sale without paying for the merchandise.
Halee admitted to voiding out items, failing to pay for items for her personal gain, sliding her child’s father merchandise; the total amount in stolen products was $464 over multiple occasions.
Halee also confessed to officers that for the past 4 months she would steal from Family Dollar about 1 to 2 times per week. Once loss prevention employees were done with the investigation, they called police. Halee and Matisha were arrested at the Family Dollar on the job charged with larceny by employee and conspiracy.
