The Caribmask Caribbean Festival brought thousands of attendees to Raleigh to celebrate the Caribbean culture. The victim came to the festival and walked behind a building in the parking lot asking for water and talking to himself. 8 black people have died from hanging deaths recently, see the coverage and pictures here.
After getting refused, the man was found hanging from a tree in the afternoon during the festival. Employees at the business found the dead victim hanging from the tree.
At this point the death is ruled a suicide.
