Nyomi Summers was killed in Charlotte during Chrysler 300 collision, she was a little girl
On Saturday, March 28, 2026, Nyomi Summers, 8, was killed on Monmouth Drive Charlotte, NC. Khaliyal Burney, 23, was arrested in connection with the case.
Nyomi was riding her bicycle when she sped out into the street and was hit by a Chrysler 300 driven by Khaliyal at 6 p.m. The front left of the Chrysler 300 struck the front of the bicycle, ejecting Nyomi into the roadway.
An ambulance transported Nyomi to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Khaliyal remained on scene and was screened for impairment and found to not be impaired. Detectives are investigating to determine if speed was a factor.
Khaliyal was arrested and charged with Driving While License Revoked, No Liability Insurance, Failure to Register and Fictitious Registration.
