Gas pumps were hit during a wild shootout at a Exxon gas station
On March 20, 2026 a shootout happened at the Exxon gas station on North Tryon Street Charlotte, NC right beside the Walmart. Genesis Petty, 18, is accused of getting in a shootout with 29-year-old Shy Sanford.
Genesis and Shy were arguing at the Exxon. Glocks were pulled out and the men started shooting at each other.
Shy was shot in the thigh. It does not appear that Genesis was shot. However, 2 active gas pumps were shot during the shooting. Thankfully a fire or explosion did not occur.
Genesis fled the scene, but he was arrested on the same day of the shooting charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
