On March 14, 2026 Azbel Castro, 29, pled guilty to the second degree murder of Emmanuel Gebru, 31, in Charlotte, NC.
Emmanuel was shot and killed on June 27, 2021 on Independence Blvd. shortly after 2:20 a.m. Emergency officials transported Emmanuel to the hospital. Emmanuel later succumbed to his injuries and died.
Azbel was later arrested charged with murder. At trial Azbel pled guilty to murder and was sentenced to 144-185 months in prison.
