Early in the morning on February 29, 2020, Demarcus, Antonio, and an acquaintance were at a gas station on Brookshire Blvd. getting gas in a silver Dodge Magnum.
Another group of individuals were also at the gas station in a red Ford Mustang. The Magnum exited the gas station parking lot with the Mustang following quickly behind it.
Rollins was in the front passenger seat of the Magnum. Rollins leaned out the window of the Magnum and fired multiple shots across the roof towards the Mustang.
One of the shots went through the roof of the Magnum and struck Mack in the back of the head, and two other shots hit the Mustang. The Mustang then crashed into a railroad embankment. Within approximately 10 minutes, the Dodge Magnum arrived at a nearby hospital.
Surveillance video captured the defendant carrying Mack into the hospital, dropping him in the emergency room area, and running out seconds later. Mack died from his injury the next day.
The trial, which began on February 9, 2026 concluded weeks later with a guilty verdict of first degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. A judge sentenced Rollins to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
