A man wanted to divorce his wife, but she was not having it so she murdered him according to prosecutors
54-year-old Susan Perry was arrested in February 2026 after her husband Robert Joe Perry was murdered. Court details say Susan killed her husband in Huntersville, NC after he told her he wanted a divorce.
Robert was murdered on November 10, 2025 at the couple’s home. Robert was frustrated with the marriage and wanted a divorce.
Robert told Susan that he planned to divorce her. Susan got mad and took Robert’s gun that he was holding. During the struggle the gun went off and shot Robert in the chest, he died on scene.
Susan called 911 and told cops Robert killed himself. Police believed her. 3 months went by and Susan had not been arrested in the crime.
Police searched Susan’s phone during the 3 month period and found Google searches that asked how much her husband’s wedding ring was worth, what to do if your husband wants a divorce and you have no money, and information about “center mass shots”.
Police called Susan in to police headquarters for questioning, and she admitted that Robert did not commit suicide, instead he was killed during their gun fight.
Susan was arrested charged with first degree murder.
