3 brothers are dead after playing on thin ice at a lake, the brothers drowned and had hypothermic shock
Three brothers died in a frozen pond on January 26, 2026 during a massive snow storm. They are 6-year-old Howard, 8-year-old Kaleb and 9-year-old EJ. The snow storm brought heavy ice and snow to the east coast.
The deaths were in Bonham, Texas. The kids were playing on a frozen lake right next to their house with their sister. The kids were on the frozen ice when the ice caved in and the 3 boys fell right in. The sister of the brothers ran to their mother to get help.
The mother ran to the pond jumping in to save them, but she could not reach them. A man heard the screams and jumped in the lake to save the boys.
Kaleb and EJ were pulled from the water by the neighbor and were rushed to the hospital but did not survive.
Howard never resurfaced at the time. A dive team had to go in the freezing water and recover his body after an extensive search of the pond.
