A woman has been arrested after a baby died from fentanyl overdose at cheap motel
1-year-old Kamelah Michilena died one day after Christmas on December 26, 2025 at a cheap motel on Queen City Dr. Charlotte, NC. Brionce Parks, 26, was arrested in the case accused of child abuse. Click here to see the many times drugs have been found in a baby’s system.
Kamelah was exposed to fentanyl in the motel room. Kamelah began to have complications and stopped breathing. 911 was called to the motel at 1:23 a.m. less that an hour and a half after Christmas day. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
EMS tended to Kamelah. The baby girl was rushed to the hospital via ambulance, and she died. Brionce was the adult responsible for baby Kamelah.
Brionce was interviewed by homicide detectives at police headquarters. Brionce was later arrested on December 26th charged with felony child abuse and exposing a child to a controlled substance.
