At 9:30 p.m., Jermaine was riding a dirt bike near the intersection of Brookshire Boulevard and Oakdale Road. Video shows a car running into a man, killing him.
Cops say Jermaine was operating the dirt bike without lights when he was struck by a Toyota vehicle that was turning onto Oakdale Road.
The impact knocked Jermaine off his bike and onto the ground. The asphalt ripped portions of his skin off his body.
When officers arrived on scene, they located both vehicles badly damaged. Jemaine was bleeding and in critical condition. Medics transported Jermaine to Atrium Health Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Jermaine was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to officials. The driver of the Toyota was uninjured and was not impaired. Jermaine grew up playing little league sports, he was on several teams. One of the most notable sports was football.
