In 2025 detectives with the Union County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into reports of a child sexual assault that occurred in the Waxhaw area.
An arrest warrant said that Pastor Waymon engaged in a sexual act with a minor child.
The warrant indicated that the alleged crime happened in 2022. Over the course of several weeks, detectives conducted numerous interviews and gathered critical evidence to advance the case.
As a result of investigative efforts, cops identified Pastor Waymon as a suspect, and arrested him on March 5, 2025. Pastor Waymon was charged with four counts of felony statutory sexual offense with a child.
But mysteriously enough Pastor Waymon was found dead a week after his arrest. No foul play is suspected, but no cause of death has been given yet. See other pastor articles here.
Pastor Waymon was married for 46 years to First Lady Veola L. Jordan. They had four children together. Pastor Waymon also has 11 grandchildren.
