On February 20, 2025 the snow caused a multi vehicle collision on Alexandriana Rd. on the bridge over Interstate 77 in Huntersville, NC. A wreck also occurred on Hwy 73. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
The multi vehicle crash occurred during the snow accumulation on the bridges. The roads were icy, some covered with black ice.
Vehicles traveling slid and hit each other. Some patients had to be extricated from their vehicles by EMS and firefighters. Snow has fell several times in Charlotte this year.
Several people were injured and taken to the hospital. The bridges will remain closed until the icy conditions can be addressed & corrected. Avoid the area for now.
