Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit have charged Jose Rodriguez, 63, for attempted kidnapping in a case that occurred at Sharon Pointe Apartments in Charlotte, NC.
On the evening of October 5, 2018 at 7:40pm patrol officers responded to an attempted kidnapping call on Amity Pointe Road. Officers were advised that a group of children were playing in the parking lot of the apartment complex when Jose approached them and grabbed an 8 and 10 year old girl by their wrists.
As witnesses approached Jose, he released his grip on the children and fled the area. The children were not injured during the incident.
Officers located Jose after canvassing the neighborhood. Jose was charged with 2 counts of Attempted Kidnapping.
