43-year-old Carnis Poindexter was the first murder victim of 2019. But Carnis also tortured a 19-year-old man for days in the same house he died in.
Carnis, his son, and others were arrested on charges that they beat and tortured Tyler Huff in 2018 on Highlander Court, Charlotte, NC.
On January 1, 2019 Carnis was shot at multiple times on Highlander Court at 3 in the morning.
Upon being shot Carnis ran to the front porch of his residence, where he collapsed and died.
