On Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 6:33 p.m., a 12-year-old male victim flagged down a police officer driving a marked patrol car and advised that he had just been inappropriately touched.
The investigation has revealed that the victim had been walking down a trail located on Tuckaseegee Road when Animir approached him. Animir attempted to force the victim further into the wooded area and then inappropriately touched him.
The victim was able to push and get away from the suspect at which point he flagged down the officer.
Responding officers were able to quickly locate and arrest the suspect. Animir was interviewed at police headquarters by detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit. At the conclusion of the interview, Animir was transferred to the Mecklenburg County Jail and charged with Indecent Liberties with a Child and 1st Degree Kidnapping.
