Derric Smith, 28, and Justin Manley, 22, were arrested for their involvement in stealing a vehicle and an intent to kill shooting in Charlotte, NC.
On Tuesday, March 19 around 3:00 am, a Blue Kia Sorento was stolen from Griers Grove Road after being left running and unattended.
The vehicle was later located crashed at Nevin Road with two holes that appeared to be bullet holes.
Before the stolen vehicle crashed, officers near the area heard gunshots coming from the Nevin Road area and observed the stolen vehicle speeding away at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle crashed and a traffic stop was conducted. While searching the vehicle, officers located three firearms and additional evidence inside that indicated the weapons were recently fired.
Deric was charged with Larceny of a Vehicle and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.
Justin was charged with 2 counts of Discharge Weapon Into Occupied Property, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, Firearm by Felon, Concealed Carry Weapons Violation, and multiple traffic citations.
