Albert Washington, 24, is charged with the murder of Brandon Clark, 21.
On March 16, 2019 at 2 a.m. Brandon stole a man’s vehicle at gunpoint in a parking lot on West Trade Street Charlotte, NC. The victim advised 911 that Brandon had not left the scene and was still sitting in the vehicle moments after the carjacking.
Brandon could not figure out how to operate the vehicle, so he exited the vehicle and was then shot and killed by Albert. Brandon was pronounced deceased at the scene. A female bystander who was sitting in another car in the same parking lot had her vehicle shot into but she was not injured. A nearby occupied apartment on 5th street was also struck by a bullet, no one was injured there either.
A few days later on March 18 officers conducted a traffic stop on Dundeen Street. The occupant of the vehicle, Albert Washington, was arrested without incident for a warrant related to this homicide. Cocaine was located and seized during Albert’s arrest.
Albert has been charged with Murder, Shooting Into an Occupied Vehicle, Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana.
