ARRESTS MADE IN ARMED ROBBERY SHOOT OUT AT SWEEPSTAKES PARLOR

Anthony Henry, 17, Averin Washington, 17, and Chavez Peoples, 25, were all arrested charged with a violent sweepstakes parlor robbery. Probable cause was developed that led to warrants for the suspects’ arrest.

On May 5 at 10:22 p.m., the three male suspects are accused of robbing the AIA Arcade at gunpoint. The business is located at 5622 E. Independence Boulevard Charlotte, NC. At least one of the suspects was armed with a firearm. 

As the suspects left the business and were in the parking lot, shots were fired between the suspects and a security guard employed by the business. Chavez was hit by gunfire; the Security Guard was not injured.

The shot Chavez was later dropped off at a hospital.

On May 11, 2019, Chavez was released from the hospital and arrested charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

On May 14, 2019, Anthony turned himself into jail. He was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

And then on May 20, 2019, Averin was arrested.
