Marquis Faulkner, 19, and Natron McDougald, 24, are both charged with the murder of Monica Smith, 26.
On the evening of May 25, 2019, Memorial Day weekend, Monica was killed on Catherine Simmons Avenue Charlotte, NC.
After receiving 911 calls officials located Monica on the ground with a apparent gunshot wound inside of her apartment. Medic transported Monica to the hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
Monica served in the Army at Fort Bragg and had an 8-year-old son.
