11 POUNDS OF COCAINE HIDDEN IN MAN’S SUV

Federal agents arrested a man from in Hidalgo, Texas after locating 11 pounds of cocaine within the SUV he was driving.

On Sep. 5, 2019, a federal agent at the USA border checkpoint in Hidalgo encountered a 38-year-old male Mexican citizen arriving from Mexico driving a red 2003 Ford Expedition. After presenting his Mexican border-crossing card, the federal officer referred the traveler and the SUV for further inspection.

Officers conducting the secondary examination utilized a non-intrusive imaging technology system, which assisted them in discovering five packages of alleged cocaine that were concealed within the Ford Expedition.

The narcotics were valued at $86,000. The driver was ultimately arrested and turned over to Homeland Security Investigations agents.
