On October 14, 2019 79-year-old Nahorna Vira Hryhorinva was killed in the parking lot of an Aldi grocery store in Mathews, NC– just outside of Charlotte.
Nahorna was hit by a car in the parking lot of the Aldi on 555 West John Street. She was crossing the parking lot after exiting the store. Nahorna was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, she later died from her injuries.
The driver of the vehicle that hit Nahorna initially left the scene, but the driver later had a change of heart and met with officers. No charges have been filed yet.
