WOMAN KILLED IN HIT AND RUN CRASH, TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED

17-year-old Maniche Wilson was killed in a hit and run car accident on February 17, 2020 at 10:39 a.m. in Charlotte, NC.

Michael Himes, 48, and Lauren Kerr, 39, were charged in this case.

Michael was driving a Ford F-150 Raptor on Old Plank Road and when a Honda Accord driven by Maniche accelerated into the intersection into the path of the Ford truck. The two vehicles collided in the intersection and crossed the opposing lane of travel where they came to a final rest on the grass shoulder of Old Plank Road. 

Lauren was nearby and stooped at the scene in a Toyota 4-Runner. Michael is accused of getting into the Toyota 4-Runner and riding away, with Lauren as the alleged driver.  

The Toyota 4-Runner and the owner were located at a nearby address. 

The driver and registered owner of the Ford F-150 Raptor, identified as Michael Himes, was also located at this address. Michael is charged with Driving While Impaired, Felony Death by Vehicle, Involuntary Manslaughter, Felony Hit & Run, and Reckless Driving. 

The owner of the Toyota 4-Runner, identified as Lauren Kerr and friend of Michael was also arrested and charged with Aid and Abet Felony Hit and Run.
