In 2024 Clifford Smith, 53, pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter after killing 30-year-old Desmond Balogun during a domestic dispute on Green Ivy Lane Charlotte, NC.
On October 2, 2022 Clifford and Desmond were involved in a dispute with each other. Clifford is accused of shooting Desmond.
Clifford was arrested on October 3, 2022 charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury regarding Desmond being shot.

Detectives upgraded the charge on Clifford to murder. In 2024 Clifford pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter and was in return sentenced to 50 months in prison.
