A homicide occurred on Reagan Drive Charlotte, NC on August 15, 2020 late at night. A child was shot and had life-threatening injuries. Paramedics transported the child to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Homicide and Crimes Against Children Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation. Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from the Operations Command, K-9 Unit, Victim Services, Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Homicide Prosecution Team, and the fire department also assisted.
A Canine Unit responded to the scene and assisted with the recovery of a firearm. Homicide Unit detectives are speaking with family that was present during the incident and are not currently looking for any additional suspects.
