Surveillance video released on December 1, 2020 shows Danquirs Franklin, 27, being shot and killed by Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department Officer Wende Kerl at a Burger King on Beatties Ford Road Charlotte, NC.
Danquirs had first entered the Burger King on March 19, 2019 to confront his ex-girlfriend over relationship issues. Things got out of hand quickly as Danquirs quickly pulls out a gun and begins destroying the restaurant and assaulting employees. Danquirs is even seen strangling one female employee.
Danquirs jumped the counter in outrage at one point.
Police were called and eventually shot and killed Danquirs in the Burger King parking lot. Danquirs was in the process of dropping his gun at the commands of officers, but Officer Wende shot and killed Danquirs anyway.
Moments after the shooting, one officer is heard yelling, “Stay the fuck off the radio”
