Taheem was in a home with older family members when he was killed by carbon monoxide at 9:30 a.m.
A generator in the basement of the home began leaking carbon monoxide. The deadly gas began to seep into different areas of the home.
A 75-year-old victim and a 53-year-old victim began to get dizzy and nauseous from the carbon monoxide.
Taheem was sleep when the carbon monoxide got into his room and entered his nostrils. Taheem died from breathing in the carbon monoxide.
Family members checked on Taheem, but he was dead. 911 was called and paramedics wore hazmat suits and masks while entering the home. Reviving attempts were made on Taheem by EMS, but he was pronounced deceased on scene.
The other two people were hospitalized after breathing in the carbon monoxide.
Emergency officials recommend that people get CO detectors in their homes to prevent carbon monoxide deaths and injuries.
