27 year-old Tirik Trotman and Nathaniel Diggs, 23, were both arrested after 10-year-old Kaelin Washington was shot along with 2 other male victims. The arrest was on March 9, 2021.
The shooting was in Baltimore, Maryland on February 27, 2021. Two groups of people got into an argument and began shooting. Kaelin was walking to the store and was shot in the chest. 2 adult male victims were shot too. None of the victims were involved in the argument. The victims were all transported to area hospitals by ambulance.
Tirik was officially charged with three counts of 1st degree attempted murder, three counts of reckless endangerment, and other charges. Nathaniel is charged with discharging a firearm and reckless endangerment.
Due to the shooting, Kaelin suffered from a punctured lung, fractured rib, and emotional trauma. The bullet remains lodged in her back.
